Estimated reading time: 2 minutes

In August 2024, the Kansas Supreme Court appointed Tyler Garretson, a partner at Garretson & Toth, LLC in Olathe, to the Attorney Admissions Review Committee. His term runs through June 30, 2027. This appointment reflects the level of professional standing Garretson has earned within the Kansas legal community and highlights the caliber of attorney representing clients at Garretson & Toth, LLC.

What Is the Attorney Admissions Review Committee?

Before an individual can practice law in Kansas, they must demonstrate good moral character and meet all other fitness requirements set by the state. When an applicant does not appear to meet those standards, the admissions attorney refers that person to the Attorney Admissions Review Committee. From there, a panel of three practicing attorneys reviews each referred applicant and submits recommendations to the Kansas Board of Law Examiners. It is a role that carries meaningful responsibility — those appointed to the committee help shape who is permitted to enter the legal profession in Kansas.
